Get to know the acoustic blues duo who have been performing across east Anglia for over 17 years…

Adrian Day…

…has been playing Harmonica for close on 37 years in a variety of bands but feels that playing in a duo offers more ‘musical space’ and takes him out of the comfort zone, which is good. Performing with Saltshaker over the past 16 years has led to cutting a CD and performing a live Bopflix video session and on two radio shows including BBC local radio.

A blues man through and through but has also worked with local folk singer songwriters over recent years doing gigs, recording sessions and a live radio.

Adrian is highly supportive of the local music scene. He co-hosts and fronts the House Band at the longest running Blues Jam in Suffolk along with fellow musician Tim Ainslie at The Shamrock every Third Thursday of the month. Adrian also fronts The Ministry of Mojo a 5 piece blues band.

Andy Heasman…

…plays guitar, bass and keyboards, and writes and his own songs. He performs with a number of other bands including ‘Caution Horses’ ‘EllY Tree’, ‘Torsion Field’, ‘Rachel and the Reverbs’, and ‘Above and Beyond’

Working with Adrian on researching original blues numbers on old crackly vinyl has given Andy a deep appreciation of the music of that era. In addition to being the acoustic guitarist in Saltshaker,

Andy is also an active supporter of the local live music scene and organised ‘Suffolk Songwriters’ the original and longest running local open mic event in Ipswich.  Andy also has his own studio which he uses to produce high-quality demos for local artists.
